January 30

Life is really flying by. Before I know it, I'll be 85, sittin on the front porch in a rocking chair, reflecting on days gone by. Seriously! I try to make the most of every day. Okay, let me rephrase that. I try to make the most of my time with Claire, and my time with Paul. Other than that, I can't honestly say I try to make the most of everything. But that's okay. Even savoring every moment with my child doesn't slow down time. If anything, time is going faster now. I mean, my BABY is WALKING. Yes, she's been walking for a few months now, but sometimes it really hits me, you know? She can almost run. She's into EVERYthing. And I love it. I love her so much.

She's been sick the past few days. She got some vaccines last Tuesday, and I think her sickness was from that. She's had a runny nose and fever since Friday, though this morning her fever was finally gone. It was a long weekend! (Didn't I just say how time was flying? Yeah, not this weekend.) I didn't do a thing except nurse her (literally and figuratively). She she's on the mend, thank goodness.

Actually, on Saturday morning I did attend a meeting of the Real Diaper Circle of Wayne County. I didn't want to go since C was sick, but they moved the meetings to Saturday pretty much just for me (they were having them during the week), so I felt like I had to go. It was okay. Angela went with me. It was nice to be around other mother who use cloth diapers, but it was crazy. Everyone brought their kids. We had kids from 12 weeks to 3 years there, and the bigger ones were LOUD. Like so loud I really couldn't hear anything the mothers said. And one kid stole Claire's toy TWICE, right out of her hand! I didn't say anything because I didn't think I should. I guess it shouldn't have made me mad, kids will be kids, whatever. But my child is not used to bein around other kids, and she doesn't even know how to react to them. She just sat in my lap and stared at them the whole time. Granted, she had a fever, but I think she would have done that anyway. I don't blame her. They were scary!

Paul and I have been planning our vacation. We're going to spend 3 days in Charleston, SC, and we are possibly spending one day in Myrtle Beach before heading back home. I can't wait! I want to get away so bad. I wish we could afford to stay away for a week or more, but this will do just fine.

I've been on Pinterest lately. Awesome site, but a little confusing to me still. I'm figuring it out. I see so many things on there I love, but I know I'll never get around to doing it. Like beautifying the laundry room. I found a gorgeous picture of one today on Pinterest and I am in love with it. The walls are a pretty blue color, the cabinets and trim are white. There's a white chandelier and a white shelf above the washer and dryer. That's it. My walls are white (my concession to Paul's insisting that we have at least one room be painted white), but my cabinets are blue. I love it, but it needs more. I want a shelf, which will actually be more functional than decorative. I want to hang a picture on the wall, and get magnets for the freezer in there so I can put pictures on that. And I want a chandelier! That is the coolest idea! Now to figure out how to broach this subject with Paul...!
